As removed from professional high spec radio test equipment
Milliren Technologies Inc
Series 210
Model: 210-0517-D
Released to market in the late 90's
13Mhz (AT Cut)
Very low spurious emissions
Extremely low phase noise
Ultra High stability due to the incorporated crystal oven - see the photograph of the specification page.
Designed as a "drop in" DIL package for a standard crystal oscillator to greatly improve thermal stability
The characteristics of this oscillator make it suitable for use in GPS, Microwave and Satellite receivers and of course test instrumentation.
Component dimensions:
BODY - 18mm long x 12mm wide x 12mm height
PCB mount (pins) with two case/ground pins
COSMETIC CONDITION:
This component is in excellent condition.
Pins have not been shortened
TESTING:
This OCXO was in known working condition prior to equipment removal however, to be sure, I "fired up" the oscillator after removal and had a good sinewave output. I have not tested the stability of the output frequency though but based on the fact the oven is working, I am happy it is performing exactly as designed.
These oscillators are not just a crystal element but a complete oscillator block, output level is 7dBm
Operational voltage can be in the range of +5 to +15V
There is a tuning port so the frequency of operation can be "pulled" - controlled by a voltage between 0V and 10V positive
During testing the casing gets warm but not hot - confirming the oven is working
Current drawn by the component is extremely low, making these suitable for use in portable equipment.
