Wow!
Ex pulls from some 1980's Philips communication control systems.
None of your "plastic jobbies" here, the substrate is ceramic with a beautifully engineered wiper design
ALLEN-BRADLEY - Miniature Trim Potentiometer
Taper: Linear
Value: 5K
Mounting: horizontal (PCB)
2x round 0.85mm diameter solid pins and one 1x flat leg which makes for very secure attachment to the PCB
Ceramic substrate
DIMENSIONS:
Body diameter 10mm
Slot length 5mm (easy to make adjustments)
When fully inserted into a PCB, height is only 2.75mm off the board i.e low profile
Top adjustment access, slot screwdriver
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED ex communications control system equipment (Philips)
CLEAN
Shiny metal!
NO ceramic substrate damage or cracking!
Smooth rotation of the wiper
TESTING:
As this is OLD stock and I took the opportunity to run a quick DC resistance test, and check for smooth variation in resistance as the wiper is moved.
I have measured every trimpot and the track resistance is 5046, 5068, 4575, 4603 & 4998 Ohms - all within 10% tolerance of the nominated value
Wiper travel resulted in smooth changes in resistance although I have not gone to the trouble of checking linearity.
Now placed into a sealed clear plastic packet ready to find a new purpose in life ...
