BACKGROUND:
Ex workshop spare parts
These are often used for 'recessed' adjustments, not usually front panel controls.
Supplied as three separate components:
a) Potentiometer body, solder tag termination
NO thread on the body, two 'bendable' metal tags on the body provide the means of securing the pot
b) Plastic control shaft, round, which has a knurled end piece for finger grip with a small rectangular slot if using a small screwdriver for adjustments.
c) Small white plastic washer that fits over the inserted shaft end piece.
To assemble the pot (if you wanted to use the shaft) it push fits into the centre of the body (metal tag side) and once fully inserted 'locks' into place. It could probably be withdrawn but the lock is VERY TIGHT - once the shaft is fully inserted, it stays in!
SOANAR have been in the Australian electronics manufacturing and distribution business for many years, around 50 or so. I strongly suspect these pots are a 3rd party product badged as Soanar - the product information is not stamped into the body but is on a small metallic label. Other than this label, I cannot find any other hints as to who made these pots originally.
