HISTORY:
Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything (that has been tested and still functioning properly) should be repurposed creating saving in wasted Ee and reducing the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.
Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.
If you would like to know more about Ee values, please take a look HERE
This electronic component is brand new, old stock.
My original source of this component was a 'pedigree' audio amplifier designer/manufacturer in Australia which has now ceased operations. I say 'pedigree' because all of the various components I am offering are high quality, not el-cheapo Chinese crap!
As this is brand a new (but old stock) equipment spare part, I am offering 100% warranty with this product - any issues and a full refund is offered.
SWITCHCRAFT high quality/high reliability products are used widely in the professional audio industry, particularly (but not limited to) in conjunction with musical instruments, patch panels, general input/outputs. We ALWAYS used SWITCHCRAFT product in our studios for these reasons and they never let us down. Sure, there are cheap knockoffs around but when the job is mission critical there was no way we were going to risk using 'other' XLR products.
SWITCHCRAFT - XLR Line Plug
Genuine product: stamped into the front section of the metal body 'SWITCHCRAFT' and the rear screw-on section has the Switchcraft company logo stamped into the metal body in two places, 180 degrees apart.
Made in USA
Part # AAA3FZ
Silver plated contact area and rear solder terminals 1,2,3 but the outer shell contact is standard nickel plated.
3 Pin female plug commonly used for balanced analog signal routing, microphones and instruments and not so much these days, AES/EBU which is a digital interconnect system (PCM) once commonly used in the broadcast industry.
Beautiful body shape! Love these Switchcraft as they have such a nice smooth tactile feel and very easy to grip securely. Assembling a lead with these is dead easy and once soldering is completed, just screw the two halves of the body together, this brings 4 small fingers inside the connector closer to each other, resulting in a very tight secure grip on the cable sheath inside. Quite similar to the operation of a collet knob.
I have included an extract from the Switchcraft datasheet to provide the dimensions, coding details etc
