HISTORY:
This component has been pulled from an ancient tuner, although I cannot remember (and did not note which brand) from Japan
Tested both mechanically and electrically, details are below
UNIDENTIFIED MANUFACTURER - Panel Meter
Made in Japan
Purpose: intended to display centre zero tuning of a receiver
Type: Window view
NO backlighting
Part #: SB405-6F
Centre Zero
Full Scale Deflection: 100uA in either direction
Mechanical zero adjustment
Substantially all plastic body with a clear acrylic window
Solder tag terminals to the rear
DIMENSIONS:
Overall body: 50mm height x 42mm Width x 8.5mm Thick
Movement barrel: 33mm x 16.75mm x 14.5mm deep
Window area: 28mm height x 42mm wide
Four mounting bolts (2.1mm with nuts) at the rear 31mm apart horizontally x 32mm apart vertically
Solder tag coil terminals spaced 26.5mm apart
TESTING:
Coil resistance is 407 Ohm
Connecting a very low DC voltage source, I had a gentle FSD at 100uA current flow in either direction
Pointer centre zero adjustment working correctly, although in my opinion rather limited in travel
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
Clean Black background/Silver text face without scratches, cracks or discolouration
NO terminal damage
NO body damage
If I was to downgrade anything, the pointer looks to have had more Red paint on it than it does now! If this really bothers the owner, access inside is easy - snap fit front face.
I have now placed this meter onto protective foam, shorted the contacts and sealed in a clear plastic packet
