Top quality Allen Bradley special purpose interconnect cable

USED excellent condition

Allen Bradley

Part # 1745-C1

B Series PLC Programmers interface lead

male 8 pin DIN style connector to male 8 pin DIN style connector

NOTE: Locking lever at one end is missing - I cannot remember if it was ever there (the PLC Programmer was sold quite some time ago) but even with it, the lead works perfectly anyway.

SPECIAL NOTE:

After an enquiry about using this cable with some DJ equipment, a bit of research reveals:

Stanton interconnect cable part # 404-CDN24A-012

Searching online produced results but no-one had stock (discontinued) so not much help there

Also used with other manufacturers equipment e.g Numark

I did find an equipment supplier who it appears will make to order – they indicate a price of 6 Pounds (UK based) plus freight – here is the link…

Check the size of the connector though, is it a “standard”original DIN connector or the later mini-DIN connector with the same 8 pins but physically smaller.

Stanton calls this socket a MDJ18-08/420-HDJ7000-046A but that is only their internal part number and no hits looking outside to check the physical dimensions.

I have downloaded the Service Manual which would be very handy to have anyway….it does give some details about the signals on that cable between the CD players and the controller.

This is the DIN connector at the controller end of things, showing what signals are on each pin

This is the CD player units DIN input connector.

Looking at the signals at each end, pin 1 does go to pin 1 etc which means the cable is a straight through cable

I have tested the cable I have here, it is a straight through cable i.e pin 1 goes to pin 1 at the distant end, etc – there are no “cross-overs” so each pin connects to the same pin at the other end of the cable.

The DIN connector fitted is the original DIN standard, measures 15mm diameter, a mini-DIN is much smaller.
