Collet knobs are used where the component shaft is round without a 'flat' spot (D shaft) and provides a secure, tight grip onto the shaft
This size knob is often found on professional electronic equipment, particularly test equipment.
What is a Collet knob?
Collet knobs use no grub screws or push on friction fit to the controlled component shaft
Flip off the top cap, unscrew the central nut and the knob releases from the shaft - reverse this procedure and the all metal grip mechanism (brass) effectively and securely "clamps" onto the shaft
