ALL devices have been sourced through reputable local distributors such as RS Electronics, Farnell, WES and Rockby (Victoria) NOT direct import Chinese (often dodgy spec) devices
Found in a large number of older electronic designs, particularly those from Japan. Many will opt to substitute these Op amps with the NE5532, LM158, LM158A, LM358, LM358A, LM2904, LM2904Q, LM4558, and LM747 but on the other hand, it is often preferable to stay with the original "designed in" device.
There are subtle differences between the original JRC 4558D and the device types mentioned above, HERE is a link which may help decide which device to use (or confuse you even further!)
