Another interesting piece of hardware extracted from some professional video equipment which has now become an organ donor to other equipment
USED
Carefully extracted hardware
While dismantling some broadcast video equipment SMPS units, I found these very nice Silicon rubber "boots", in great condition and as they are difficult to find and when you can find them, VERY expensive, I extracted them from the equipment.
Nice when you need to electrically isolate a semiconductor (these are intended for TO220 package devices) but still allow thermal conduction. This boot simply fits over the transistor body (no grease required) and then (in the case of the equipment I had on the "operating table") a spring clip firmly holds the transistor against the metal casing, which acts as a heatsink for the device.
The spring metal clips are advertised separately HERE
GENERIC - Transistor Silicon Rubber (SiR) Boot
Suits TO220 case transistors
Unlike many component distributors and retailers, I will supply these special Si boots in one-off quantities - nothing worse than wanting "a couple" of pieces of Silicon and being forced to purchase a whole packet!
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
Silicon rubber is NOT marked i.e no previous "heat" marks
NO tears or splits to the Silicon rubber!
"Pull & Tug" tested a number of these to check for rubber degradation, no problems here at all.
Supplied sealed in clear plastic packets
*** Where the photograph shows multiple boots, this advertisement is for ONE boot only not all that are shown ***
