Well here's something you don't see everyday!
I like to recycle, preserve our resources and repurpose equipment or its parts where possible.
This is one such assembly ...
This lateral handle assembly is a product from Schroff Germany, well known for their excellent electronic enclosure and allied components
This assembly comes from some very specialised communications field cipher equipment that has now been parted out.
Schroff (Germany)
Well known German manufacturer of very high quality enclosure components for industry use (meaning, normally VERY expensive)
Equipment Lateral Handle Assembly also known as the tip-up handle (NOT COMPLETE - please read the description)
Schroff supplies these as catalogue number: 10502-296 (side arm kit)
Die cast zinc construction - gun metal grey finish
The actual carry handle has a chrome finish
When assembled, load carrying capacity is 20Kg
See one of the photographs to understand how it all goes together
TWO PARTS ARE MISSING - The spring and associated push button
This means the handle cannot be locked/unlocked in its present form however, great for those extremely difficult to find handle spare parts or you might be lucky and already have the required spring and buttons (two sets required - one set for each side)
CONDITION:
The chrome handle is very clean and almost unmarked - just a couple of small scratches
The side assemblies are also very clean BUT there is very light "dimples" in the metalwork, light oxidisation. I have given these a metal clean treatment and substantially improved the "look" - further cleaning should continue to improve the oxidisation. It is not in any way bad but its just nice to have a perfect handle assembly if possible.
Since removal from the equipment and a good cleanup, these components are now stored in sealed plastic - this is how the assembly would be shipped.
