Ex 1970's domestic audio equipment, a loungeroom dominating beast called a radiogram!
I think it was an HMV but in those days I did not properly record where I had obtained components, just putting them away unlabelled.
Please look at the photographs and read the description below to try and ascertain if this knob may suit your own equipment.
UNIDENTIFIED MANUFACTURER - LARGE KNOB
Silver coloured (looks to be brushed aluminium) outer with an inner Black plastic shaft insert to suit a 16mm fluted shaft
Knob has straight sides (not bevel shaped) with ribbing all around
No pointer line or dot
Towards the base of the knob there is a bevel which extends the diameter - see the dimensions below
Dimensions (Digital Calipers):
Knob 25.85mm OD (top) or 29.9mm OD at the base (flange area) x 20.95mm height
KNOB DESCRIPTION:
No pointer at all
Ribbed sides (for easy finger gripping) with a base flange
Aluminium (looks to have been brushed) main body, not metallic paint
16mm fluted shaft socket is Black plastic and is inserted into the underside of the Aluminium knob and fastened with a Brown glue.
CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
There are some light 'oxidisation type' marks down some of the ribs - metal cleaner did not shift these, however, they are not terribly noticeable in any case.
NO severe scratchings or other markings
Knob face has a couple of very minor scratches
Fluted shaft is undamaged - no stripping
Since removal, I have now carefully packed and sealed this knob in a clear plastic packet to preserve the condition
