Salvaged from a "beautiful" vintage piece of test equipment from Rohde & Schwarz (Germany) which would have no useful function in today's world of communications
Rohde & Schwarz are German company synominous with excellence in test equipment and I expected the build to be all German but a couple of components, including this CRT are from Japan.
EXTREMELY IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTES:
While this CRT "might" be used as a "drop in" replacement to restore some old equipment or possibly as a standalone custom project (very old school) because I do also have the complete CRT power supply advertised seperately for those who might like to investigate the world of CRT technology. By using this separately advertised CRT power supply module, you have a complete CRT system, just add H & V signals.
Of course, it is extremely important to observe safety precautions with cathode ray tubes. They are made of glass (think of them as a VERY LARGE vacuum tube with very high voltages on the anode) and inside the tube is under a very high vacuum.
Handle always with extreme care, particularly around the neck area (the weakess point)
If you mishandle the tube, particularly the neck, it may crack and will instantly implode (it is a very high vacuum inside) and glass will fly everywhere!
From an electrical perspective, never ever let your fingers stray around the cap area (anode) - on this tube it normally sits at a potential of 11Kv and careless handling could result in severe shock or the risk of heart failure.
Always treat a cathode ray tube with the highest respect, whether it is "in circuit" or totally disconnected. If you don't then it can bite you - BAD! This applies whether it is powered on or off as any previous high voltage can be stored by the tube (like a capacitor) and discharge through your body when you stupidly touch the cap without protection.

TESTING:
Removed from fully functioning Rohde & Schwarz test equipment. Powered up display is showing in one of the photographs, nice bright & sharp character display.
Closely observed the phosphor coating, no signs of "burn in"

Yes I will pack and send this CRT safely! I have sent other CRT's and always pay great attention to the safe packaging.
