HISTORY:
Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything that can be reused or repurposed creates Ee savings and reduces the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.
Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.
If you would like to know more about Ee values, please take a look HERE
If you have taken on the task of restoring a PIONEER Z93 midi system, you will know how difficult these VFD's are to find. Over time VFD's can "fade" to the point where they are bearly readable, these replacement VFD's are in great shape and could be just the thing you have been looking for...
I recently have had the Z93 on the operating table and removed selected parts for others to reuse - this advertisement is for the two EQ VFD displays, one for the right channel and the other left - they are NOT identical.
It is not an easy task to get behind the front panel so the best of luck to those who might be considering the "adventure"! but once inside, it is reasonably easy to access the display PCB.
To try and assist those who might consider this set of two VFD's, one of the photographs has a picture of the actual equipment front panel with the relevant displays lightly highlighted in Purple - please look at the photograph.
Note that these are "dum displays" meaning this is the display but they are not intelligent, all data comes from the IC771 LSI device.
PIONEER - MIDI Stereo System Component
COMPONENT: Front panel EQ Vacuum Fluorescent Displays (VFD's) Set of two
PART #: V771 (AAV1071-A on the device) V772 (AAV1069-A on the device)
Material: Glass (vacuum sealed)
TESTING:
Immediately prior to removal, both of these displays were working fine - good brightness and the easy to read
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
NO marks to the display front glass
These use a row of "spring like" contacts (each is 10.5mm length) which mate (through hole) with the PCB
NO contacts are broken or "shortened"
De-soldered and left the contacts relatively clean, ready for re-installation in another Z93
I have individually packed each display with special padding to protect both the glass and those long contacts and placed within a sealed clear plastic packet.
