USED LARGE 7 segment red LED display for experimenters
This is the raw 7 segment display, no drivers supplied. Of course if the display was intended to show the same information each time it is on, there is no need for drivers anyway.
7 Segment Display
90mm wide x 122mm (almost 5 inches) high
Common Cathode (negative is common)
Part number is printed on the side of the casing: UC4171-82-54REW although I cannot track down data on this particular device so I sat down and checked which segment is connected to which pin (see the photographs indicating this)
7 segments plus the decimal point
Intended to run on between 11.5V and 12V (internal LED's are in series)
Typically producing 250 - 300mcd of red light per segment when illuminated
These came from a large government organisation time display system, very easy to read from a distance with good brightness but also high contrast.
Of course a 7 segment display is intended for numerical displays but you can also create some alpha characters.
I have enclosed the pin out function, you can either pcb mount this, wire direct to the pins or use screw down molex strips, 5 conductors at the top and 5 conductors at the bottom.
The pitch of the pins is 5mm
Known to be completely functioning, removed just recently from fully functioning equipment.
Nice diffused but very bright deep red colour when the segment is activated.
Great LARGE display for many uses, usually being driven by a driver intergrated circuit and this driver being instructed by a processor which is user programmed.
Here is a link to a site doing some really interesting things with these large displays

All displays being offered have no damage physically or electrically, ready to use once again.
