HISTORY:
This component has been pulled from some E & L Instruments (USA) laboratory R & D equipment which has very recently been on the "operating table" destined to become a "component donor" due to some case damage (steel but damaged none-the-less)
These are nice terminal posts, banana or through wire, Silver plated contact areas, nice special recessed panel washer (plastic) and if you really wanted to diassemble the terminal post, this is feasible as there is a tiny nut on the rear.
UNIDENTIFIED MANUFACTURER - Binding (Terminal) Posts
I have no doubt these are USA product - there is no way this company would be using Asian product
4x coloured bodies (White, Black, Red & Blue)
Yes, if you haven't already guessed, these were used for the Op amp DC supply outputs on the equipment.
Wrap around solder post at the rear for wiring
Supplied with the metal retaining nut
DIMENSIONS:
Terminal Post (total length) 45.25mm
Terminal Post (protruding from the panel) 22.75mm, meaning that 22.5mm is the length of the rear section (including the solder post)
Diameter: 11mm
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
NO solder dags
NO physical damage to any post although I noticed some very light "scuffing" to the top plastic section of the Black terminal post, only.
ALL threads are fine, nuts fit onto and can be rotated fine - this is my biggest bug-bear with this type of terminal post, the plastic thread. It is EXTREMELY important to ensure the nut is correctly aligned otherwise you will end up cross-threading i.e damaging the thread.
The plastic seems to be a high temperature type, de-soldering the solder post (which wasn't easy as the previous wiring was tightly wrapped around it) did NOT affect the plastic body of the post in any way. I hate those Asian "el-cheapo's" that melt away when you try to de-solder them!
The White bodied terminal post is now more like a Creamy Yellowish colour - I have cleaned it as much as possible but cannot get it back to White.
Supplied as a FOUR pack, I will not separate these, in a sealed clear plastic packet.
