HISTORY:
This component has been pulled from a piece of nice British test equipment which provided low variable voltages at adjustable current limited ranges - a precision power supply.
Belling Lee was a well know name in electronic components, good solid British design and construction.
All equipment eventually gets to the stage where it is admitted to the "Intensive Care" ward and the only thing left for it is to become a component donor to other gear ...
This is one of those components.
Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything (that has been tested and still functioning properly) should be repurposed creating saving in wasted Ee and reducing the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.
Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.

BELLING LEE (England) - Binding (Terminal) Posts
Made in England Circa 1970's
Identifying marks: On the underside of the base section is stamped into the material "BELLING LEE ENGLAND"
Colour: Olive Green top thumb screw & Jet Black base section
Type: Panel mounting via a single hole
As I have three different colours and mixed quantities, these terminal posts are offered in 'one off's"
All mounting hardware is supplied
Materials used: Thermoplastic (although I had to make a double take as initially I had the impression these could have been Bakelite but after some tests I believe these are NOT Bakelite) This is high temperature plastic, not your ordinary PVC which goes soft when heated.
The keyed 1.5mm thick washer is not a thermoplastic but something like a fibre washer.
All other parts are solid metal, perhaps Chrome over Brass
The terminal post accepts a standard banana plug OR you can use the side entry 1.5mm diameter hole for direct wire insertion.
Double screw on nuts for fitting of your own ring terminal (not supplied)
The various 'underside' components to the terminal post are shaped and locked to fit into each other and once assembled, they will not 'move around'
DIMENSIONS:
Stands 23.5mm off the panel when mounted
The full length of the post front to rear threaded shaft is 47.3mm
16.5mm diameter post base (where it meets the panel)
Central shaft is 4mm diameter at all points, plenty of current capabilities and this also means that is the minimum hole size in the panel that is required for mounting.
1.5mm thick fibre washer and the post base section provide extensive insulation from the panel when used with "higher" voltages

NO oxidisation or corrosion
Thermoplastic is undamaged
Fibre washer is undamaged
Nuts thread onto the main shaft easily i.e the shaft is not bent!
This terminal post is now packed into an individual sealed clear plastic pack, awaiting a new purpose in life!
