HISTORY:
Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything (that has been tested and still functioning properly) should be repurposed creating saving in wasted Ee and reducing the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.
Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.
If you would like to know more about Ee values, please take a look HERE
This electronic component is brand new, old stock.
My original source of this component was a 'pedigree' audio amplifier designer/manufacturer in Australia which has now ceased operations. I say 'pedigree' because all of the various components I am offering are high quality, not el-cheapo Chinese crap!
New capacitor (but old stock) from our R & D/workshop spares cabinets
I have been in the electronics "game" for almost 60 years and worked closely (technical sales rep) with some of the best component manufacturers of the day including SIEMENS, PHILIPS and RIFA. However, I have hunted through my component data books and cannot find the PFD series from RIFA so the information about these special capacitors is a bit sparse unfortunately.
They look for all the world like JENSEN PIO capacitors (paper in oil) with the same shaped casing and outer sleeve but there is no obvious indication these are in fact paper in oil so I will have to "assume" these are Polypropylene types.
High precision, lovely little caps (if you think of capacitors as being things of beauty!) My wife thought they were fancy candies! Another thought they were an inserted medical aid!
These appear to be particularly difficult to find, I couldn't find anyone offering these around the usual haunts ...
RIFA - Polypropylene Film* Capacitor
* Assumed to be PF as my other guess would have been PIO but no printed indication of that on the case
Made in Sweden
0.115uF (115nF) 200V
Precision
Tolerance: 2%
Axial leads
FULL information printed on the casing
RIFA (Stylised RIFA logo in a circle) PFD
1042 A/1
0.115uF 200V DC (symbol for DC) +- 2%
Metal case, press sealed at each end then the whole component has a pink/red tubular outer seal (looks to be thermo sealed)
Tinned wire leads are 32mm long x 0.75mm diameter wire
DIMENSIONS: 33.5mm Length x 13.5mm Diameter
COSMETIC CONDITION:
NEW
Old Stock
CLEAN
Leads do show a light dullness to the tin plating, still readily "solderable"
As these are old stock and supposed to be high precision, I have checked the values of every capacitor on offer and ALL are well inside the 2% tolerance band, in fact closer to 1%
There will be NO ongoing supply of these, once they have found new homes there will be no more ...
These are available in single or multiple quantities (discounts automatically applied for quantities)
