HISTORY:
Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything (that has been tested and still functioning properly) should be repurposed creating saving in wasted Ee and reducing the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.
Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.
If you would like to know more about Ee values, please take a look HERE
Oldies but goodies!
Tough to find these nowadays ...
The Silver Mica capacitor is well known for it's stability and reliability over time and is often a highly regarded capacitor type for audio purposes, but certainly not limited to that application.
UNIDENTIFIED MANUFACTURER - (Dipped) Silver Mica Capacitor
JVD15 Series
Brown thermoset resin dipped package
Packing is marked as:
JVD15
806 +/- 1%
300V
Tolerance: 1%
300V DC
Nominal Value: 806pF
Termination: radial wire leads 31mm length
Component dimensions: 10.8mm Wide x 7mm Height x 4.8mm Thick
TESTING:
NEW old stock, even though these caps are Silver Mica (which is usually extremely stable) I couldn't help myself and made a "batch test" of around 10 capacitors. All fine, with the measured capacitance 798pF ~ 810pF, with the majority of those tested tending towards the higher side but all within the 1% tolerance band.
COSMETIC CONDITION:
NEW
CLEAN
The leads remain readily solderable if just slightly dulled due to oxidisation.
Now stored in sealed, labelled, clear plastic packets
