Brüel & Kjær are a world reknown designer & manufacturer of audio and vibration transducers.
Operating since 1942, they produce precision audio and vibration transducers.
The company's reputation is the result of their unique experience and knowledge, backed up by meticulous testing and quality control.
Every transducer that leaves their factory is tested and the individual transducer specifications are recorded against the serial number.
In the early days, this meant that every transducer kit contained a hand written report of the characteristics along with a graphic printout.
This device is electromechanical device based on the piezo effect and specifically designed to measure acceleration forces.
Acceleration is the measurement of the change in velocity, or speed divided by time.
Such forces may be static, like the continuous force of gravity or, dynamic to sense movement or vibrations.
This device, although old, is still considered a precision sensor of acceleration - every technical aspect of the device has been recorded prior to leaving Brüel & Kjær

COSMETIC CONDITION:
Very good, light wear to the top from previous use but not significant.
TESTING:
These accelerometers are tough but not indestructible so I made a very basic test.
Using an oscilloscope, I made sure that I had significant output (voltage) when vibrating or rapidly moving the accelerometer - everything looks to be fine.
The one thing I have not checked is the compliance of the device compared to the original calibration, so my test is a go-no go only.
Comes in the original packaging with the 1.2m coaxial cable and mounting adaptor
