HISTORY:
It always helps to know where a used component came from, it's heritage!
This transformer is low profile because it was used in DIN41612 rack cards, not much height is normally available.
The transformer is from HARBUCH ELECTRONICS (they were based in Hornsby but they appear to be undergoing some sort of transition as their "new" website is a bit flaky (I believe Rod has retired and the company doesn't seem to be "up and running" again yet)
These transformers were typically running 24/7 and designed to perform reliably under these such conditions, it also gets quite warm inside those rack cases.
HARBUCH ELECTRONICS Pty Ltd (Australia) - Toroidal AC Power Transformer
Designed & manufactured in Australia
Model: PTT 4411
Dual primary winding 2x Primary windings (separate windings) one of which is 110V and the other 110 & 130V tapped. These two windings are currently connected in series for 230 ~ 240V 50Hz operation, exactly as they were wired on the Eurocard.
DUAL Secondaries: 15V 30VA EACH winding
All windings are colour coded and easy to identify (marked on the toroid transformer)
Brown - Orange: 110V AC Primary winding
Black - White - Pink: 110V/130V Primary winding
Apply 240V AC to Pink & Brown (Female spade connectors currently fitted) - Black & Orange are already connected & insulated using heatshrink.
Red - Yellow: 15V AC @ 30VA (approximately 2A)
Blue - Grey: 15V AC @ 30VA (approximately 2A)
These were used to provide 15V AC to a dual rail rectifier/filter/regulation system across multiple eurocards.
TOROIDAL DETAILS:
91mm Diameter x 30mm Height
Centre hole is epoxy potted
5mm Centre hole for the mounting bolt
Underside rubber pad is supplied
As this has a potted core, there is no need for a metal washer "top hat"
LEAD LENGTHS:
Primary: 130mm
Secondaries: 150mm
WEIGHT: 850g
NOTES & TESTING:
The original centre bolt is supplied but probably not of much use because it is a bit short to fit a nut onto. Originally these cards used a female shaft extending into the transformer centre so the original bolt worked well. Nothing special about the bolt, just check out how long you need it to be and your local hardware shop will have these bolts/nuts.
Open circuit tested both secondaries, both measured at 16.84V AC each secondary winding
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
NO damage to the core or windings
NO signs of any stress while in previous use
Rubber pad is not cracked or split
