HARBUCH ELECTRONICS - Toroidal Power Transformer
Made in Australia (Sydney)
I suspect Harbuch is going through a period of "transition" as their website appears to be only partially active and I read somewhere that the original owner (Rod) was retiring
Model: PTT-4776
800VA Total power output capable
Label on one side of the core reads:
HARBUCH ELECTRONICS PTY LTD
PTT-4776 800VA
PRIM 240V ORG-ORG
SEC 1: 2x 40V/9.4A RED-YEL & BLU-GRY
SEC 2: 2x 15V/1A GRN-VLT & BLK-WHT
SEC 5,6,7,8 4x 10V/1A BRN/ORG PNK/RED YEL/BLU GRY/GRN
(Old Australian Made "Boomerang" graphic sticker to the right side)
Sextuplet (Fully isolated) secondaries:
2x 40V @ 9.4A full load) - typically for audio power amplifier output stages
2x 15V @ 1A - typically for auxiliary modules, input stages (particularly those based on Op amps with dual rail supplies)
4x 10V @ 1A - more auxiliary supply sources
Orange - Orange: 240V AC Primary winding (not multi-tap, ONLY 240V input)
NOT potted (no epoxy resin infill - this will be a task for the new owner to undertake
NO mounting hardware supplied (rubber or plastic discs, metal disc and central bolt) with any of these transformers.
PHYSICAL DIMENSIONS:
160mm diameter
Unfilled "donut" 45mm centre hole
65mm height
All primary & secondary flying leads 200mm length
All leads are solid core, pvc insulation.
WEIGHT:
5.8Kg !!! It's quite a heavy beast!
COSMETIC CONDITION:
BRAND NEW
Old Stock
TESTING:
To confirm the transformer is functioning properly, I have made some simple "open circuit/no load" voltage tests on transformer
Secondary 1 & 2: 50.8V each
Secondary 3 & 4: 15.4V each
Secondary 5,6,7 & 8: 10.22 ~ 10.18V *** Green/Grey 10V secondary read slightly lower than the other three windings
Confirmed total isolation between Primary & ALL Secondary windings and between ALL secondaries, this is not an Auto-transformer!.
At the conclusion of these simple voltage tests I have now lightly twisted each secondary winding pair together to ease identification later - there are a LOT of colours to deal with!
Take a look around at the current pricing of multiple secondary 800VA toroids (sit down first) and you will see this is a bargain for a new transformer - I have just one available now
