High quality, well made AC Power transformer
Useful as a replacement transformer or for custom designs
Manufacturer is unknown
Made in Japan
Ex Leader audio test equipment
Dates from the 1980's
AC multi tap inputs - currently wired for 240V input (most likely the other taps are for 100V (Japan) and 115-120V USA)
38V Secondary - centre tapped (19-0-19)
Separate solder tag for earth - this is NOT ground/earth but connected to an internal faraday shield. The use of a faraday shield attenuates possible high frequency noise currents to the electronics being powered by the transformer.
Nice solid copper strap around the transformer is intended to present a shorted turn to the leakage flux, and an opposing magnetic field is generated by the current induced in the copper strap. This opposing field reduces the effective magnetic flux seen "away" from the transformer. Very useful where the power transformer must be located within a case and near the very sensitive audio electronics.
The only marking on the transformer is
J-543
All connections are solder tag type, the only identification of the windings is by a number but I have marked the important tags myself.
I would make an estimate at a rating of around 25 - 30VA so the most current this transformer will supply would be around 750mA @ 38V (roughly) - this is no high powered transformer but great for low level dual supply use, especially when being used with sensitive, low level audio op amps.
