Try looking in the user manual, if you have one.
If the manual is not available, try to see if the remote button layout looks "right" compared to your old remote - a bit hit & miss though, particularly difficult if the old remote is missing!
Please be aware that every single remote sends a unique code to the equipment under control, just because you may have PANASONIC equipment, it does not mean this remote will control it.

TESTING:
Being a used remote, I check any remote to the best of my ability
My testing method is to insert batteries and "look" (using my security camera's) for the IR emissions from the remote control and ensuring every single button sends out an IR code. I must assume though that the codes being sent are correct, I do not have this model of home theatre system unfortunately.
