The buyer must establish beforehand that this remote suits their own AKAI equipment
How?
Try looking in the user manual, if you have one.
If the manual is not available, try to see if the remote button layout looks "right" compared to your old remote - a bit hit & miss though, particularly if you have lost the old remote.
Please be aware that every remote sends a unique code to the equipment under control, just because you may have AKAI gear it does not necessarily mean this remote will control it.
I have a reasonably thorough look around online but I am unable to come up with any models or photographs of the equipment this remote is intended to be used with.
AKAI - Remote Control ONLY
Retro (Oh yes, this remote is for a VERY OLD player)
USED IR Remote control
Genuine AKAI product NOT a copy
Part number: ADV-8175R
This remote has function buttons to ONLY control what appears to be DVD playback equipment.
The buttons are ALL labelled typical for such equipment e.g OPEN/CLOSE, SUBTITLE, RESUME, ANGLE and many more but none look to be intended for use with other equipment such as a television or multi-unit entertainment system.
Remote only
TESTING:
TESTED and functioning fine on ALL buttons
NOTE: My testing method is to insert batteries and "look" for the IR emissions from the remote control (easily viewed on the security camera's) and ensuring every single button sends out an IR code. I must assume though that the codes being sent are correct, I do not have the AKAI equipment this was intended to control.
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN - although with some light superficial marks to the rear of the remote (see photograph)
ALL button or front panel labelling is clearly legible and none has "rubbed off"
ALL buttons functioning
Battery compartment contacts clean and undamaged
Used but undamaged in any way - tested 100% functional
Stored/supplied in a sealed clear plastic packet to maintain the current condition
Batteries will NOT be supplied (2x AA) to prevent any issues with Australia Post (they are very risk adverse to shipping packages with batteries inside) and keeping the shipping weight down to a minimum
