If the manual is not available, try to see if the remote button layout looks "right" compared to your old remote - a bit hit & miss though.
Please be aware that every single remote sends a unique code to the equipment under control, just because you may have AKAI gear it does not mean this remote will control it.
If you are making a personal visit to purchase the remote, and it is practical to bring your AKAI gear to the house - bring them and try it on the spot!
