HISTORY:
Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything (that has been tested and still functioning properly) should be repurposed creating saving in wasted Ee and reducing the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.
Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.
If you would like to know more about Ee values, please take a look HERE
Dang! This is one ugly (but functional) remote control from the early 1980's
Part of my old Home VCR/Video Camera system from JVC, I am listing the remote as a separate item to provide the greatest flexibility to a new owner who may not necessarily want a whole JVC Video System!
While it is possible that this remote will work with other JVC equipment, I cannot provide any information regarding this but I do know it works with the HR-2650EA!
JVC (VICTOR COMPANY OF JAPAN) - Remote Control
Made in Japan
Type: NOT MARKED ON THE CASING AT ALL
TEXT ONLY SAYS
WIRELESS REMOTE CONTROL UNIT
(Front and Rear)
Infra Red OR wired control (3.5mm socket next to the IR window at the front)
Requires 2x AA batteries
I will NOT supply batteries with this remote, Australia Post does not like shipments containing batteries
Very basic transport control of the JVC HR-2650EA i.e tape FF, REW, PAUSE, STOP, FR ADV, RECORD plus AUDIO DUB and CHANNEL (controls not the VCR section but the separate television tuner/power supply.
Belt clip (protruding spring metal) on the rear
DIMENSIONS:
130mm Length x 62mm Wide x 20mm Thickness
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
This remote has seen quite a bit of handling which has resulted in light wear to the front panel area (brushed Aluminium label sheeting with direct printing onto the metal)
Fortunately, no decals have rubbed off! It is still easy to see which button does what.
NO writing or engraving into the hard plastic outer case.
Battery contacts are clean and shiny
Although the rear "belt clip" looks bent out of shape, it is not! For some reason the clip protrudes much more than I would have expected. You can remove the clip easily (one screw) but REMEMBER to reinsert that screw after removing the clip, it is important to keep the two halves of the case together!
TESTING:
This remote was part of my very old JVC HR-2650EA home video & camera system and I tested this remote while examining the system.
Push a button and the RED led comes on.
ALL buttons work and are responded to correctly by the equipment.
Although not the "prettiest" of remotes, I like the feel of the buttons - nice positive action.
To maintain the current condition, I have now placed this remote into a sealed clear plastic packet (cushioned by bubble-wrap) awaiting a new owner.
