A great 'bare bones" radio for the outdoor 4WD enthusiast in cases of emergency and also where someone might be looking for alternative communication methods to digital mobile phones and internet based communications.
We have noticed increased interest in analog communication because in these modern times, it is extremely easy for authorities to access digital communications but much much harder for the effective monitoring of short range, analog communications.
This Uniden transceiver is an older model, running 40 channels and we don't think it can be modified for 80 but still fine with the existing CB channels 1 - 40
No frills (unlike the very fancy GME 4500 we have advertised separately) - so there are no "receive only" facilities for things like bush fire, etc
