Anritsu PDC Signalling Tester Model MD1623B
Specifically designed for testing of both tx and rx relating to the now obsolete Japanese cellphone system, PDC. Similar (in some ways) to GSM in that it used TDMA, operating in the 800Mhz & 1.8Ghz frequency bands (2G)
**MODULE ONLY**
PDC is old cellular technology although still in use until 2012, at which time the last Japanese provider turned off their equipment.

MODULE: EXPSYN
Part number: A22 EXPSYN 322U13816
Slot position directly into the motherboard
COSMETIC CONDITION:
Clean with no damage at all
TECHNICAL DETAILS:
Multilayer PCB
Open Frame with four openable diecast shields top/bottom
Some discrete components but primarily SMD
Removeable devices: None
Board mounted devices: Just a couple of resistor arrays and capacitors on the PCB - all the interesting devices are under the shields
There are 4x sub-sections, each within a diecast shielding. Removing the shield is easy with 4x bolts from the top going into a tapped hole in the underside shield
Each sub-section is very similar, in effect this module provides 4x independent PLL Frequency Synthesisers.
Sub-section 1: NPC PLL2001 (Serial input PLL typically used around 225Mhz), 2x JRC 5534 Op amps
Sub-section 2: NPC PLL2001 (Serial input PLL typically used around 225Mhz), 2x JRC 5534 Op amps
Sub-section 3: NPC PLL2001 (Serial input PLL typically used around 225Mhz), 2x JRC 5534 Op amps
Sub-section 4: NPC PLL2001 (Serial input PLL typically used around 225Mhz), 2x JRC 5534 Op amps
TESTING:
Fully functioning prior to removal from the MD1623B in 2020, equipment now obsolete.
Removed, stored/supplied in ESD safety packaging
