HISTORY:
Working through the boxes of electronic spare parts I have gathered together over the years, originally this was partnered with the REALISTIC AM CB transceiver which I have advertised separately HERE
Good, average quality microphone intended for the domestic/personal communications market. I believe this microphone would suit other mobile transceivers that use a DIN 5 pin circular male connector.
REALISTIC (Taiwan) - Transceiver Microphone
Tandy Electronics was a USA based electronics distributor and retailer, often using the trade name REALISTIC. They did not manufacture their products but sourced (often from Taiwan) and rebranded products. Represented here in Australia by Intertan.
Stamped into the rear of the plastic microphone body, Made in Taiwan

Microphone insert: Dynamic (NOT a condenser mic)
Estimated year of release is the period 1980's ~ 1990's
Reasonably rugged construction although a bit "light" in the construction for professional transport use e.g truckies
Nice "feel" which comfortably fits into the hand
Easy to operate PTT side button
Terminated with a DIN 5 pin (round pattern) male plug
This microphone MAY suit other Realistic transceiver models
Rear lock ring fitted (hard to see in the photograph as it is Black)
WEIGHT: 175g
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
NO physical damage at all
NO substantial marks or scratches on the body, only light wear to the rear microphone ID label
Push-To-Talk side button operates easily and smoothly
Heavy duty curly cord has NO nicks or sheath damage and the coils all have integrity, meaning that the curly cord has not been unduly stretched in the past - in fact (for me) this is the best part of the microphone!
DIN plug is undamaged
TESTING:
Tested this microphone with the Realistic TRC-415 transceiver HERE (not yet a live link) checking the microphone element and PTT switch
Both the PTT and speech audio are fine - no problems at all
I have now placed this microphone into a sealed clear plastic pack, awaiting a new owner.
