HISTORY OF THIS CANON POWER ADAPTOR ACCESSORY
My professional and private background is all about electronics, audio and 'The Arts' but NOT really video, film or photography!
Over the years, I seem to have gathered together a bunch of old camera's (some are odd looking) and the accessories, I am now looking for a new home that may be able to do something with these.
I am not even sure anyone is interested in old video camera's but I am very 'big' on sustainability and if this fits into someone's museum of antiquated photography or video equipment or even as a spare parts 'farm' for other old gear this would please me greatly.
PLEASE read the description completely and decide if this power adapter may be of interest to you.
There are no returns or refunds offered, this equipment is second hand and offered 'as-is"
CANON - AC Power Charger/DC Supply With Camera Adaptor
Technology: Ni-Cd (I said it was old!)
Main Unit Model: CA-R300AS
Battery charger output: 8.5V (Ni-Cd)
Camera output: 6V
Camera Battery Adapter: DC 100
Made in Japan
A little explanation here ....
The main unit (R300) plugs into a normal domestic power outlet (GPO) and this unit can EITHER charge the camera battery OR supply DC directly to the camera using the other part, the DC-100. This gizmo is like a "pretend" battery that plugs into the back of the camera but of course that's not very portable.
The battery I used with this charger is the BP-711, a Ni-Cd beastie from years ago! The battery sits vertical in the charger, not flat.
COSMETIC CONDITION:
CLEAN
NO damage to either the main unit or the DC-100 adaptor
TESTING:
I tested these components with the CANON UC5500E Hi 8 camera. The original CANON battery I used will be supplied with the camera, not this power supply. I was actually amazed at the battery - I charged it on this unit, tested the camera for a couple of hours then left it alone for well over one month. Came back today to recheck everything and the battery remains fully charged!
I also tested the pseudo battery adaptor (DC-100) and it is working fine too (with the CANON UC5500E)
Now that testing is finished with, I have placed these two items in a sealed packet waiting for a new owner!
