HISTORY OF THIS AC ADAPTER
My professional and private background is all about electronics, audio and 'The Arts' but NOT really photography or consumer video! My photographs on this website will atest to that (I do the best I can with my limited equipment!)
Over the years, I have gathered together a bunch of strange camera's and accessories (some are odd looking) and they have been sitting in a large plastic container under the house, with the lid on of course.
I am big on sustainability and I am hoping very much that someone else may find a use for the accessory described below.
I am seeking someone who may find a use for this accessory
I am not an expert on this equipment but I do like to describe anything I offer as best I can, PLEASE read the description below to read about my comments on this item, whether it works (if I can test it) and my overall impression of the item.
In all cases, this item is offered as a second hand item in 'as-is' condition, I will not entertain 'returns' or 'change of mind' but I have kept my asking price (just for my time typing this advertisement up really) to be very reasonable.
For those wondering, my old film based camera's have all found new homes.
I have only a couple of little compact cameras (if still available, search my other advertisements for them) and a bunch of very early handycam/video cameras along with a pile of battery chargers/AC adaptors and even some old batteries if someone wants them for their 'museum'
PLEASE read the description below completely and decide if this item may be of interest to you.
SONY - NiMH AA or AAA Battery Charger
Genuine SONY product
Technology: Switchmode
Model: BC-CS2B
Made in China (printed on the case)
Charging station for EITHER 2x AA or 2x AAA NiMH batteries (NOT Lithium) and not all four at the same time, it's one size or the other for each charging.
NOTE: While testing I found that charger just one battery of either type works fine too, you do not need to charge in 'pairs' but you cannot charge 2x AA at the same time as 2x AAA
Uses a standard C7 (Figure 8) IEC style of power lead (detachable) - I will supply the power lead
Substantially plastic body
Weight: 100g
Dimensions: 28mm high x 90mm long x 70mm wide
COSMETIC CONDITION:
Clean
NO body damage at all (no cracks or pieces missing!)
All battery spring contacts are clean/shiny - no corrosion at all
TESTING:
Checked the charging with both NiMH rechargeable batteries AA (1 or 2) and then AAA (1 or 2)
Orange charging light comes on
Correct voltages are applied to the battery - actually it seems to be always checking the battery voltage (while charging) because as an example I read 1.33V then 1.38V then back to 1.3V across each battery - it is a definite cycle that occurs. I believe the 1.3V is the actual true battery voltage and the 1.38V is the voltage applied by the charger. Once fully charged, the Orange light goes out.
I am 100% confident that this AA/AAA Battery charger from SONY is fully functioning
Now the I have finished testing and describing this battery charger, I have now sealed it in plastic to protect it from the environment while it waits for a new owner.
