HISTORY OF THIS BATTERY CHARGER
My professional and private background is all about electronics, audio and 'The Arts' but NOT really photography or consumer video! My photographs on this website will atest to that (I do the best I can with my limited equipment!)
Over the years, I have gathered together a bunch of strange camera's and accessories (some are odd looking) and they have been sitting in a large plastic container under the house, with the lid on of course.
I am big on sustainability and I am hoping very much that someone else may find a use for the accessory described below.
I am not an expert on this equipment but I do like to describe anything I offer as best I can, PLEASE read the description below to read about my comments on this item, whether it works (if I can test it) and my overall impression of the item.
In all cases, this item is offered as a second hand item in 'as-is' condition, I will not entertain 'returns' or 'change of mind' but I have kept my asking price (just for my time typing this advertisement up really) to be very reasonable.
For those wondering, my old film based camera's have all found new homes.
I have only a couple of little compact cameras (if still available, search my other advertisements for them) and a bunch of very early handycam/video cameras along with a pile of battery chargers/AC adaptors and even some old batteries if someone wants them for their 'museum'
PLEASE read the description below completely and decide if this item may be of interest to you.
SONY - Battery Charger
Genuine SONY product
Technology: Switchmode
Model: BC-CSKA
Made in China (printed on the case)
Charging station for Li-ION 3 terminal camera batteries
Intended for use with the NP-BK1 battery which according to the information found online, is for use with the old SONY Cybershot compact cameras
Uses a standard C7 (Figure 8) IEC style of power lead (detachable) - I will supply the power lead
Substantially plastic body
Weight: 100g
Dimensions: 28mm high x 90mm long x 70mm wide
COSMETIC CONDITION:
Clean
NO body damage at all (no cracks or pieces missing!)
All battery spring contacts are clean/shiny - no corrosion at all
TESTING:
I do not have one of the intended 3 terminal batteries so I had to 'extend' the connections out to use a different battery for testing.
NOTE: Until a battery is inserted (or connected), the charger has no output - the temperature terminal (T) must 'see' a battery first then all is fine.
Checked with my trusty multi-meter, measures around 4.4V charging
Orange light comes on, indicating it is charging
Waited a few hours and the battery was fully charged - all good!
I am 100% confident that this battery charger is fully functioning
Now the I have finished testing and describing this battery charger, I have now sealed it in plastic to protect it from the environment while it waits for a new owner. the I have finished testing and describing this charger, I have now sealed it in plastic to protect it from the environment while it waits for a new owner.
