Print out of test barcodes (setting up)
User guide (in pdf format) 140 pages and it contains the barcodes which need to be scanned if the user wishes to change the configuration
COSMETIC CONDITION:
Excellent, as new - light scuff mark noticed on the top of the scanner but no other issues
TESTING:
The easiest way for us to test this scanner was to plug it into a spare USB port on a test PC and then look at the barcode output in MS Word - worked extremely well.
The test machine is running Win 7 64 bit Ultimate and there was no issues finding a driver automatically
THIS IS A CONTACT SCANNER, meaning that it cannot read a barcode unless it is very close to the printed barcode - maximum distance is around 6mm although I could get "slow" readings up to 10mm away
This is completely different to the other handheld barcode scanner I have on offer, the PSC Quickscan 6500 which does read at much greater distances
I printed a setup page from the manual and scanned in the "Enter Configuration" barcode - the scanner responds with a series of "beeps"
I changed none of the settings and then scanned in the barcode to "Abort" - again the scanner responded correctly and did a self restart (takes a couple of seconds)
I am happy that the scanner is functioning exactly as it should
A nice handheld scanner for those who need a quick low cost handheld scanner replacement or for experimental purposes
