Vintage TURNTABLE TONEARM HEADSHELL complete with cartridge (NO styli fitted)
Manufacturer is UNKNOWN (Completely unbranded anywhere)
Cartridge type is also UNKNOWN (Completely unbranded anywhere)
I am pretty sure this is a consumer (possibly ex-Radiogram) product
Substantially black plastic construction with the exception of the finger lift, which is chrome plated metal.
Cartridge looks to either a ceramic or crystal element - NOT the modern, common moving magnet type. I made DC resistance checks at the output terminals and it shows as open circuit, normal for the earlier cartridges.
Terminals are spade type, not the common round pins
Cartridge looks to be in good physical shape (snap lock style of fitting)
ALL plastics are undamaged, no splits or other defects.
Headshell is designed to fit onto an 8mm OD tonearm shaft, secured with a single (tiny) screw.
The headshell measures 56mm length (excluding the fitting shaft) x 22mm wide (excluding the finger lift)
Yes, it is quite large for a headshell!
TESTING:
DC tested and then jigged up to provide output into my NAD amp, simple audio test NOT playing a record (no styli) and I have audio output on both channels.
Now safely sealed in plastic to prevent dirt/dust while waiting for a new owner
