HISTORY:
More of my 'saved from the tip' components, extracted from a previous turntable but which one? I didn't record the manufacturer name or model for this item so it will be a case of checking on the details I have provided to establish if these rubber isolators may be useful for your own turntable.
UNIDENTIFIED MANUFACTURER - 4x Rubber Isolating Pillars
No identifying markings or stamping into any part of each pillar
ALL Black rubber construction - no metal, no springs
The idea is to physically & acoustically isolate the turntable plinth from the supporting shelving or cabinet.
Each pillar has a tall shaft which is indented near the base, it looks as though these were fitted into a turntable base hole.
DIMENSIONS:
Total height: 28mm
Top 'thin' section of the pillar: 10.75mm x 3.8mm diameter
Indented area: 8.5mm length x 4mm diameter with a wider 7mm diameter 'top & bottom' holding the pillar in place
Base is 25.5mm diameter x 5.5mm thickness rubber. This base is not solid but almost, think of it as being a little like a suction cup!
To fit these pillars, the user will need a round hole of minimum 4mm diameter and the base of the turntable must be no more than 2mm thickness otherwise the pillar would not 'lock' into place properly.
COSMETIC CONDITION:
This is an all rubber item so the condition of the rubber is of paramount importance.
CLEAN
NO sagging or degradation of the rubber in any way
Appears to be able to support a considerable turntable plinth weight, using considerable downwards force on the pillar does NOT force the base foot to 'spread'
Supplied as a four pack and these are now in a completely sealed clear plastic packet awaiting a new purpose in life!
