TESTING:
History: It has been a long time since this was powered up, it has been sitting in our storage units
Powers up
FM reception is fine - on FM the user can select Auto muting or Manual
All buttons work as they should
Memory works BUT it does not retain the memory if powered off for a while, this will be because the backup battery has failed. If this really bothered you, this battery will
need changing (inside on the printed circuit board)
*** UNUSUAL FREQUENCY DISPLAY ***
Instead of the usual direct frequency indication, this display has a horizontal line of red dots. As it is auto seeking stations, the dots move up or down the scale on the front panel.
It looks really "cute" but the big disadvantage is that you can only approximate the station frequency.
While the tuner is auto searching for stations, it makes a very low level "beep beep beep beep" at the audio outputs.
FM is absolutely fine BUT AM is "deaf"
I can auto search and find stations on AM but many that I would expect to receive, I cannot. So AM reception seems to have issues.
