Removed from a TEAC FM/AM Tuner
Possibly this could be used in other TEAC equipment but the user must establish this themselves before considering using this transformer assembly in other equipment
TEAC AC Power Transformer
Ex TEAC TX110 FM/AM Tuner
Part # 482016R110P2
PCB mounting
240V 50Hz AC input
Secondary is isolated from the primary windings
Although there are 6 pins on the secondary side of the transformer, only 3 are connected to a winding.
AC Outputs measured (no load)
16.3V - 0 - 10.1V
In other words the TOTAL AC output is 26.4V
I looked carefully at the former but cannot see any pin number designations. I have indicated the primary side and pins for connection of the 240V input on the former (blue pen)
The primary connections (6 pins) use only the most outer pins for the 240V input BUT BEWARE, the 2nd to last pin on the right side (when viewed with the transformer on its side) is also connected to the first pin. This means that you must NEVER connect 240V AC to the further most pins on the right hand side (next to each other), this will present a dead short across the AC supply!
The remaining pins on the primary have no connection.
The secondary outputs are on the other side of the former, if viewed looking top/down at the part number stamped onto the laminations (transformer on its side) then the secondary outputs are available at the 2nd, 3rd and 4th pin from the left
All other secondary pins have no connection
I could not find any pin which may have been connected to the transformer E core laminations, so there is no opportunity to ground the laminations.
Of course, this information is of no importance if the transformer is being "dropped" into an existing TX110 (for service or changing from 110V to 240V operation) but those voltage measurements will be handy if the transformer was to be used in other equipment.
Dimensions: 48mm x 40mm x 40mm high
Pins for the primary and secondary have a 5mm pitch
Since removal and the above measurements were made, I have now placed this transformer into sealed plastic
