HISTORY:
Oh yeah, these are old, vintage crossovers recovered from some Wharfedale loudspeaker systems yonks ago!
In our audio post production business we often came across some very nice vintage systems (mainly in the professional field) which, if not serviceable any longer, we would salvage whatever we felt could be useful in the future - these boards are the result of that salvage work.
Problem is ... it was a LONG TIME AGO and the techie's didn't properly record WHICH models they were pulled from! So if anyone has an interest in these, you will need to do some research and "homework" to figure out which systems they belong to.
But wait there's more ....
Two of the boards have ONE INDUCTOR missing from each board! The other two boards are complete but the small inductors have had their wires desoldered from the board. Why? absolutely no idea but I would guess they began something and then dropped the project, placing them in the workshop shelves where I found them many years later!
See the photograph, all four boards are shown and two do not have the smaller inductor fitted. The hole for the rivet is there so someone has actually removed those inductors.
So, I am offering these to those who like to experiment with crossovers (and who doesn't?)
The new owner will need to measure those inductors, trace the tracks and figure out the configuration being used by Wharfdale and then set about adapting them for their own system(s), allowing for the impedances/loudspeaker characteristics being used with these crossovers. I strongly suspect these (like the unidentified crossover I have listed HERE) were used in PA Loudspeaker systems, 2x woofers and 1x Horn - but I could be mistaken on this (it's been a long time and the memory isn't what it used to be)
So, enough of the introductory blurb, here are the details I can provide ...
WHARFEDALE - Crossover PCB (4x)
PCB is identified as a 450-151 (solder side) with no markings of any kind topside
PCB DIMENSIONS: 90mm x 67mm x 38mm high
All boards have a paper label attached, this has printed on it
WHARFEDALE
PM
191 306
SE A (2 have this whereas the remaining 2 have) SH B
3 way, wired and with female spade connectors fitted
Original loudspeaker terminals are also included, you need these to fit into the brass PCB eyelets for the input signal
2x inductors** (value unknown) 2x ALCAP 1.5uF 50V non-polarised capacitors 1x ALCAP 10uF 50V non-polarised capacitor @ 1x 5W wirewound resistor 1.5 Ohm
** One larger inductor, one much smaller - values of either are unknown (and my test gear has been mostly sold now!) but PERHAPS the larger inductor is 40uH as this is written on just one of them, but that is purely a guess.
NOTE: Those inductors are RIVETED to the PCB so it will be quite a job to get them off the board, if this was required.
These crossovers have certainly been in service and a couple of those 5W wirewound resistors have previously heated up the PCB (light browning) - so these have seen work!
This advertisement is for ALL FOUR PCB's, not one - I don't want any "orphans" hanging around!
I am very big on sustainability (throw out NOTHING) and really do hope that someone has the inclination to press these into service with either the correct Wharfedale's OR for their own custom designed loudspeaker system.
