HISTORY:
These SONY bookshelf (actually we had them on the wall) loudspeakers were originally part of my own "budget listening" loudspeakers in the office, the main attraction was that they are ready to hang on the wall - space was an important consideration.
'Nice sound' although due to the small size, the bass (if that's your 'thing') is somewhat lacking.
Very retro (1980's) and fitted nicely with my other 'old YAMAHA gear' I had that the time.
Sound quality is surprisingly good, 'bigstage' with good imaging and certainly able to handle 'normal' small room levels without going to mush ...

TESTING:
Good speakers for all types of music particularly jazz, rock and female vocals. Although small in size, I was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable bass response, you really cannot expect much from such tiny driver/woofers but they perform very well, particularly when up on a wall (which acts as a baffle)
The tweeters do a good job with the high end, highly responsive.
Overall, with various types of music these speakers do a great job considering they were never marketed as "high end" and they don't mind being pushed a bit hard either (no 'breakup or mushing' heard)
A nice couple of retro speakers from the Japanese although I seriously question the video (below) comment that these make great NF's - stick to using these for domestic/general listening!
