SHARP - ID Badge (1)
Circa 1970's
Trade name: Celestial
Model: GS-5640A
Material: Brushed Aluminium sheet
Screen printed text
Removed from the rear of my one of my old Quad-like sound systems - the matrix type which did not produce great decoding results on this SHARP system, these were the early days of matrix Quad and it did improve eventually. Typically this equipment played the 4D stereo vinyl records - a technology that was actually licenced from Sansui.
Note the plate mentions that the system has TEN loudspeakers
I can't recall so well these days but I think the turntable was a BSR C141R
DIMENSIONS:
ID Plate: 75mm Wide x 48mm High x 1.3mm Thick Aluminium
4x mounting holes 2.5mm diameter (in each corner)
Mounting system is the 4x screws PLUS glue - there is some glue residue on the rear
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
I would rate this plate as being 9/10 - it is not perfect but any marks are very small and quite insignificant - the worst would be the small mark just under the GS in the model number (top right hand side of the plate)
A very slight bend in the aluminium sheet but nothing bad - you may be able to see it in the photograph - left side where the text RADIO SPEAKERS is located
To maintain the condition, this ID plate has now been placed on stiff cardboard, wrapped in bubble-wrap and sealed within a clear plastic placket
