RARE!! 1970's Dolby VU Meters with hardware/backlight

More analog audio related spare parts from the storage units.

This is something quite special, one piece stereo VU meters ex Dolby audio processing equipment.

Dolby Laboratories on the scale - no other manufacturer shown, however stamped into the movement body it simply says JAPAN

One piece for both meters

Bottom up vertical movement

Lovely smooth movement of the pointers (equipment was fully functional however it was considered to be of no use as it was so it has been parted out.

Dating from the late 1970's

Black background with the distinctive Dolby logo right in the centre of the meter

Simple backlight arrangement using an incandescent lilliput bulb (wire leads)

In it's previous life, the bulb was driven by 12V AC from the equipment.

Foam backing is NOT falling apart (common problem with older gear)

Simple aluminium bracket which makes for very flexible mounting

Meter windings: 655 Ohm DC resistance

Solder tags on the rear

Measurements - note this is the measurement of the main meter "block"

Front to Back thickness: 28mm (from the front of the meter to the end of the solder tags)

Front display material: Acrylic resin - clear
