Ex workshop spare part
If you restore or repair microphones, particularly vintage mic's then you will know how hard this mesh is to find (without buying by the square metre!)
This is the last microphone mesh I have found after my massive workshop cleanup/clear out
UNKNOWN MANUFACTURER - Microphone Mesh
I cannot recall where we bought this from or where it was made but I "think" it was USA sourced
COLOUR: light grey/silver (although in some light it takes on a slight greenish Chrome appearance) I don't believe this is stainless steel but perhaps a Nickel plating
NO corrosion!
NON MAGNETIC (checked!)
GRADE: 80~100 ESTIMATED (not marked on the mesh or packaging) This is more coarse than the 120 Grade I have advertised
DIMENSIONS:
600mm x 80mm
Much longer than the other two offcuts of mesh but a similar width
COSMETIC CONDITION:
CLEAN
NO corrosion
Easily malleable and once pressed into shape, it tends to stay in position although it does have a slight reluctance to stay in shape (it has a slight shape memory)
Some light creasing (easily "flattened out") and usually the user will "pressure mould" this mesh into the required shape inside the microphone
To keep this mesh in the best possible condition I have now created a large diameter "roll", placed it onto a stiff cardboard backing and sealed in clear plastic to prevent dirt/dust and crushing. I have not laid it out flat because this would make for a very long package in the Post and they will charge correspondingly more to send it in that way.
