CONDITION:
Undamaged connectors
Undamaged sheath - nice flexible lead with no "nicks" or kinks.
TESTING:
Examined both connectors internally, good solid solder joints
NOTE: This is a 2 core cable, both cores are "tied together" working as a single conductor for the "hot" side of the XLR (pin 2)
I also noticed that although the tip of the jack is connected to pin 2 (hot) of the XLR, the sleeve (signal ground) is ONLY connected to pin 3 of the XLR. Pin 1 of the XLR has been left unconnected. I have not changed this wiring but normally I would expect pins 1 & 3 to have a strap between them for unbalanced use.
This cable also lends itself to being changed into a balanced lead, having 2 cores but some rewiring would be required.
As it stands, DC tests and cable capacitance tests show no problems at all.
