HISTORY:
I am cleaning up ALL the various leads, patch cables etc that we had on hand hanging around in the general workshop area.
This 11 metre cable was originally a custom made studio control lead with special crimped connectors at each end. I considered that the likelyhood of the lead being used as it was (with the special connectors) was very unlikely so I have cut away the connectors and am supplying the nice cable ONLY.
UNIDENTIFIED MANUFACTURER - Control/Industrial/Audio Multi-core Cable
Country of manufacture unknown (original equipment manufacturer was based in USA)
Cable sheath: 5.8mm external diameter
8x multi-stranded (7) cores, tinned
Colour coded cores (Red, Blue, Green, White with a Black core associated with each colour)
Each colour is twisted with it's Black partner to reduce external electromagnetic influences on the signals and also to reduce crosstalk within the cable between "pairs"
Shield is an Aluminium sheet twist wrap
Separate to the cores is a "drain" wire, tinned multi-strand wire which runs the entire length of the cable.
Finally there is a very small diameter nylon "string" also running the entire length of the cable internally.
Grey PVC sheath flexible but amazingly without markings of any kind on the entire length of sheath.
In it's original purpose in life, this cable carried low voltage analog signalling data and analog audio signals.
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
NO damage to the sheath
Cores are all nice shiny tinned copper (Silver colour)
I have now packed this length of cable within a sealed packet, ready for a new purpose in life!
