USED
OLD stock but very good condition
I am cleaning up ALL the various leads, patch cables etc that we had on hand hanging in the audio workshop area. Each lead is advertised separately and I have attempted to provide as much information as possible about each lead.
ALL have been professionally assembled, using high quality components, no point in testing pro audio gear with dodgy leads!
Here is another one of those leads ...
CANNON - Audio Y Splitter Lead
Cannon 3 Pin XLR female plug splits as a Y cable, each arm goes to a 3.5mm TRS inline socket
Nice old Cannon plug, rubber front end
3.5mm TRS sockets are not manufacturer identified
Twin cable sheath does not identify the manufacturer, printed only as
HIGH PERFORMANCE OFC CABLE
Each arm of the Y is 2.7m (270cm) in length
HOW IS IT WIRED?:
XLR
Pin 1 is signal ground and connects to each of the TRS socket sleeve
Pin 2 is audio and connects to the TRS socket WITHOUT a White dot marked on the plastic jacket
Pin 3 is audio and connects to the TRS socket WITH a White dot marked on the plastic jacket
The 3.5mm TR connections are shorted together at the XLR plug, effectively making these TS sockets
Intended for NON-CRITICAL audio purposes, the measured capacitance is 79pF per foot on each arm of the Y, quite a high figure but remember that there this is twin cable which effectively doubles the capacitance as they are connected in parallel. Also keep in mind that any two channel signal presented at the 3.5mm socket is going to have the two channels slammed on top of each other as they are shorted at the other end of the cable, the XLR plug "business end"
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
NO cable sheath damage or "ID markings" except for that White dot on one of the TRS 3.5mm sockets
NO damage to either the XLR female plug or either of the 3.5mm inline sockets
TESTING:
Undertook basic testing (DC) to check how the cable had been wired and the cable capacitance (79pF/foot with the two conductors in parallel)
Now that my examination of this lead has been completed, it is now in a sealed clear plastic packet waiting for a new owner
