OLD stock but very good condition
I am cleaning up ALL the various leads, patch cables etc that we had on hand hanging in the audio workshop area. Each lead is advertised separately and I have attempted to provide as much information as possible about each lead.
ALL have been professionally assembled, using high quality components, no point in testing pro audio gear with dodgy leads!
Here is one of those leads ...
B.S (UK) - Audio Lead
Customised wiring
3.5mm stereo jack plug to RCA male
There are NO identification markings on the body of the 3.5mm jack plug
B.S MADE IN U.K is stamped into the body of the RCA connector
Unidentified SMALL DIAMETER (2.5mm OD) single core cable
I have carefully examined the cable sheath and can find no markings at all
Both connectors are all metal and Gold plated
Customised connections....
The 3.5mm TRS has NO connection at the tip. The Ring is connected to the cable conductor and to the centre connection of the distance RCA connector.
The shield (tight, fine braid) is connected to the body of the connectors at both ends.
3.5mm TRS plug
Looking inside, there has never been any solder applied to the tip connection.
A mylar sleeve is used to provide insulation for the very small connections inside the plug
A spring type cable strain relief is fitted.
RCA plug
Has no mylar sleeve and no cable strain relief fitted.
Connections at both ends look sound and secure
Some measurements ...
Total measured resistance 3.9 Ohm (end to end)
Measured capacitance (entire length) 667pF
This works out at 20.3pF per foot, which isn't too bad at all and should have little effect on the frequency response at audio frequencies. Pity the cable maker doesn't seem to have identified their product though!
COSMETIC CONDITION:
CLEAN
NO damage to the connectors
NO damage to the cable or sheath (no nicks or cuts!)
Probably not very useful in it's current form for general purpose use but the cable (if somewhat thin) is nice and those connectors are definitely a quality build, they are NOT Asian el-cheapo's with Gold plating that rubs off!
Now that my forensic examination has been completed, this lead has been placed in a sealed clear plastic packet and will be supplied this way.
