Ex workshop lead rack
USED
UNIDENTIFIED - Audio Adaptor Lead
2x RCA Male plugs to 2x 3.5mm TRS Line sockets
Both Left & Right channel leads are supplied but they are two separate leads i.e not joined together, although a nylon strap has been applied to keep them together anyway. The strap has had the cable fed through it but if this doesn't suit the new owner, just cut the strap away!
Each lead is TWIN core (figure 8 type of construction)
1.2 metres length each
Each Lead comprises these components:
Very nice but unidentified ALL METAL RCA Male plug with Gold plated contact points
Cable is also not identified but simply printed on the sheath at intervals as
HIGH PERFORMANCE OFC CABLE
3.5mm line socket is MOULDED onto this cable, manufacturer not identified
I made some simple tests of this cable and the results are further down in this description.
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
Clean
ALL plugs & sockets are in very good condition
Let's take a look inside ....
Unscrew the RCA plugs from the front and immediately I noticed the COMPLETE termination area is hidden from view by the use of double wall heatstrink - very well done but it is impossible to check the core connections visually without destroying the heatshrink.
The "distant" end 3.5mm socket is moulded onto the cable so again I cannot take a visual peek inside the line socket.
Outer sheath on each lead is undamaged in any way - no nicks etc...
TESTING:
How is it wired Russ?
These leads (both having identical wiring) are suitable for single channel use only. While the 3.5mm line socket is a TRS type (two channels) and the lead is double core, the Tip & Ring are joined together at the rear of the RCA male plug - if you had two channels at the 3.5mm end as your source audio, you will end up with a single channel (Brute force "mix" of the Left & Right channels) at the RCA end of the lead.
295pF measured across the full 1.2 metres (Shield to both cores) or 75pF/foot - not brilliant at all but "useable" for non-critical situations.
This lead has now been packed up in a sealed clear packet, ready to do work once again!
