Australian designed, manufactured around 2014 by Impax Communications and sold through distributors such as Soundcraft HOWEVER I strongly suspect that Impax Communications is "no more" because I cannot contact them by telephone and their website seems to be extremely basic now.
Soundcorp is also involved somewhere here, the PCB's are marked as from that company
PURPOSE:
This equipment is intended to be used by consumer and professional audio users who need to ensure multiple audio sources have properly balanced levels - each source can be individually adjusted on a "single channel" basis i.e stereo would use two channel modules.
THIS IS DESCRIBED AS A BALANCING AMPLIFIER - THIS REALLY REFERS TO THE ABILITY OF THIS EQUIPMENT TO "BALANCE" AUDIO SIGNALS BUT IT DOES ALSO HAVE BALANCED SIGNAL HANDLING ABILITY.
This advertisement is for the Channel Module (one) ONLY - the extremely sturdy 1RU rack cabinet, with the power supply installed is advertised separately
If you already have a CINDE 219 rack unit and wish to populate more channels, then you can purchase only the input modules you require without getting the complete unit and if my suspicions are correct, finding these channel modules could be very difficult these days.
Well made, easy to install modules
This type of equipment is invaluable in the studio environment or even perhaps at live gigs - we only used this equipment in our Studio 1 (Archival Audio) where we needed audio flexibility and a quick solution to sorting out balanced/unbalanced low level signals and the audio level relationship to each other.
Perfect for the studio or gig where you have multiple analog audio sources and need to adjust the levels of those signals (this equipment will ONLY allow for level adjustment, no EQ abilities are built in)

SSM2142 (Analog Devices) special Op amplifier (see photograph)
LF353
(Interestingly, these chips are BOTH fitted in machine sockets (industrial IC sockets)
I can't image why you may need to remove these, perhaps for "upgrading" - no idea about this aspect)
3006P Series 10 turn trimpot (slot screw adjustment from the front panel)
HOW TO FIT A MODULE:
EASY is one word to describe it!
On the CINDE 219 rack unit
Remove 3x Philips head screws on the top panel, remove.
Remove 5x Philips head screws on the rear panel and carefully withdraw the rear panel.
Fit the module(s) you are installing (just place the sockets in the punched holes and tighten the washer/nut)
Connect the ribbon cable to your module
DONE! The channel(s) are now ready for use
COSMETIC CONDITION:
Clean undamaged
TESTING:
We used this CINDE equipment for a number of years and then closed down our business (audio post production and archival specialists) and put this (and many other pieces of equipment) away in storage but its time to find a new home/studio for this equipment.
Just to be sure, I have tested every channel module (all 10 of them) and everything is honky dory!
If you are considering multiple channel module purchases, automatic discounts occur for 2, 4, 6 units
