HISTORY:
Very sad to see this C141R BSR turntable go "under the operating knife" but it's useful life had passed (failed motor) and it has become an organ donor to breathe life into another C141R - these BSR decks are nothing special but it's all about the history and BSR has plenty of it!
Produced in 1974
This metal centre disc is "window dressing" for the turntable and could very well suit use with other BSR turntables .... it's not perfect but better than no disc at all!
BSR TURNTABLE - Centre Disc SPARE PART
Model: C141R but may suit other models (see dimensions below)
Material: metal, I believe this is Tin or Aluminium - it is non-ferrous
TEXT PRINTED ON THE DISC
PRECISION CRAFTED IN GREAT BRITAIN BY BSR
MEASUREMENTS:
Outer diameter: 76mm
Thickness: 0.4mm
Centre hole diameter: 13.45mm
COSMETIC CONDITION:
USED
CLEAN
NO Scratching
NO missing or partial text
HOWEVER, you can see light "marks" around the circumference of both the outside edge and the inside hole. This does not appear to be removable (I carefully tried with metal polish) and looks to be the dreaded "Aluminium rot" which I have come across on other older equipment, particularly the very early SP1 Technic turntables. It may be possible to remove this oxidisation but you would need to be extremely careful not to damage the printing.
The centre disc is FLAT
The underside has only very light "glue residue" marks, nothing serious at all
I have now placed this metal centre disc onto a stiff cardboard base and sealed it within heavy clear plastic to protect the disc topside.
