HISTORY:
Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything (that has been tested and still functioning properly) should be repurposed creating saving in wasted Ee and reducing the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.
Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.
If you would like to know more about Ee values, please take a look HERE
This electronic component is brand new, old stock.
SWITCHCRAFT high quality/high reliability products are used widely in the professional audio industry, particularly (but not limited to) in conjunction with musical instruments, patch panels, general input/outputs. We ALWAYS used SWITCHCRAFT product in our studios for these reasons and they never let us down. Sure, there are cheap knockoffs around but when the job is mission critical there was no way we were going to risk using 'other' XLR products. Always look for the SWITCHCRAFT name and other identification stamped into the metalwork!
SWITCHCRAFT - XLR Plug
Genuine product: stamped into the top of the metal body 'SWITCHCRAFT' and at the "front" of the connector (light green insulated area) is stamped SWITCHCRAFT KOREA
USA designed but these are KOREAN manufactured for Switchcraft
3 Pin
Gender: Female
Part # AAA3F Series
All metal front and body, colour is BLUE
The Blue screw on body is absolutely genuine (Switchcraft logo stamped into the body) and the Blue coating is high quality, outside AND inside..
Standard nickel plated contacts
3 Pin female plug commonly used for balanced analog signal routing, microphones and instruments and not so much these days, AES/EBU which is a digital interconnect system (PCM) once commonly used in the broadcast industry.
Assembling a lead with these is dead easy and once soldering is completed, just screw the two halves of the body together, this brings 4 small fingers inside the connector closer to each other, resulting in a very tight secure grip on the cable sheath inside. Quite similar to the operation of a collet knob.
I have included an extract from the Switchcraft datasheet to provide the dimensions
COSMETIC CONDITION:
NEW but old stock
Absolutely no degradation of the metalwork or cable strain relief at the rear
Stored and supplied in individual packets (sealed)
